In our Future of Commerce research section we consider how technological capabilities, environmental requirements and social developments will change the way all businesses operate in the future.
Process automation and streamlining through the utilisation of technologies like robotics, 3D printing, blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and augmented reality (AR) have the potential to dramatically change the landscape of manufacturing and commerce, unleashing new levels of personalisation in product design and products that were previously impossible or economically unviable.
These changes do not happen in isolation so we also consider the impacts of commercial changes to work & play, finance, government and vice versa. Trends in globalisation vs protectionism, regulatory oversight and competition law provide the macro environment that all of these technologies must navigate.
